Maintenance

It has been quiet around Camp Magruder the past few weeks, but don't let that fool you. Our camp staff have been hard at work on several projects to restore the buildings and grounds from a year of hard use.

Shorehouse is scheduled for a complete remodel this winter so our staff have been busy saving as many usable pieces of that building as possible. This building will now feature four upstairs rooms for sleeping, restrooms and showers downstairs that are handicap accessible, and the housekeeping office has been moved to create a new indoor meeting space. There are many great memories from the old building, but this renovation will be a dramatic improvement in function for Camp Magruder's year round use. Stay tuned to the blog for photos and information on this project.

The maintenance crew have also been busy refinishing floors to a sparkly shine. Each winter many hours are put into buffing, washing, and waxing camp floors.
