A Completed Shorehouse

All the hard work from visioning to grant writing and fundraising to construction paid off at Camp Magruder two weeks ago. We officially opened the doors of the new Shorehouse. We began working with J.L.T. Construction in Tillamook this summer to review building plans. November saw the re-location of the housekeeping office from their old Shorehouse office. The old Shorehouse was torn down in December and a new foundation laid. The rest of the winter months saw steady construction progress. We experienced set backs along the way, but the results of all the hard work is incredible.

Shorehouse is now a full two story building. The bottom floor has restrooms and showers, a beautiful meeting space looking towards the new gathering space, and guest laundry. The upstairs is divided in to four much more family and adult friendly rooms. Each room sleeps eight people and has it's own half bath. The new Shorehouse features a wrap around porch on the lower level and two large porches on the upper level.

Take a look at the project from start to finish in the following photos. If you'd like to contribute financially to Camp Magruder's maintenance and upkeep contact us at 503-355-2310. We need your help to continue to make Camp Magruder a place that is able to minister to both current and future generations.
